so my cousin is in the math team (7th grade) and he was asking me for help on one of his problems but I dont know how to solve

For what positive integer n does 3n^3 + 3n^2 + 4n = n^n
anyone know how to do this?

first change to 3*(n^3+n^2+n)+n = n^n
notice that n^3 < n^3+n^2+n < n^4 for n>1
so let's make an educated guess and pick n=4, and hurray
3*(64+16+4) + 4 = 3*84 + 4 = 256
