ln x - ln 5 = 4 (both natural logs, natural log x minus natural log 5) I know division is involved, just don't know that I am correct!
by the property of logs, they can be combined:
ln a - ln b = ln (a/b)
So using the above:
ln (x/5) = 4
Raise both sides to the e power:
(x/5) = e^4
Then multiply both side by 5 to get x by itself:
x = 5e^4
