What's a good way/idea to differentiate between the 2?

I'm in Math 054 and our books does the circling method, and our professor teaches the drop-down method to find the LCM. It's annoying as crap. I personally like the drop-down method more, any other cool ways?

express both values as a product of primes, and the rest is easy.
