i believe my lab partner messed up when he sent me the data, but now he's not responding and i emailed our TA but he hasn't responded yet either and i just want to get this done.

S. epidermidis is a gram-positive bacteria but somehow ended up growing on an THREE (1 control, 1 penicillin, and 1 ampicillin) EMB (supports only gram-negative) plate, and Serratia Marcenscens (gram-negative) is growing on THREE (1 control, 1 penicillin, and 1 ampicillin) LB plates, but not the EMB plates.

this is including the control plates for both with no antibiotics on them.

i'm guessing my partner messed up and is blind or i'm missing something here

emb doesn't completely inhibit all gpb/gnb

did you make the plates yourselves?
did you put the antibiotics on the plates yourselves? did you put the right ones?
something is wrong with the way you conducted it then, because the antibiotics should inhibit the bacteria.

Many ways to screw up this experiment. Adding the antibiotics to too warm medium for example.. You should have pH-dependence coloring. How the shape, color and texture of your colonies or streaks? Did you properly sterilize the inoculating loop?Maybe somebody else's growing in there.

And that should be Serratia marcescens, not Serratia Marcenscens
