Not looking for someone to do the essay, just need ideas on topics to talk about. Can offer FGs if people want.

Question:
Explain the theoretical rationale for the NPV approach to investment appraisal and compare the strengths and weaknesses of the NPV approach to two other commonly used approaches.

I'm not a finance guy, but I'd approach this like any other essay build a thought web and go from there.

write what is NPV and how it allows to compare different projects but mention the problem of selecting the discount rate and point out the fact that projects can break even after a different number of years (leads to risk) -> here you have your first alternative of payback period; later compare to internal rate of return
