I don't know how to post documents but all you have to do is google “Modernism, Formalism and Politics: The "Cubism and Abstract Art" Exhibition of 1936
at the Museum of Modern Art" and answer these questions. I'm haven't trouble with all of the questions besides number one. Maybe what I think her thesis is is wrong and could be throwing everything else off. But yeah if someone could give me some input that'd be greatly appreciated, thanks.
Part 1: Thesis (1-2 sentences)

Please list the two texts with which the author engages most extensively/productively in their essay, and in one or two sentences (each) relate the argument of the text as relayed by the author you have chosen. Please indicate whether the author is using this source to support their own argument or if they are presenting it as a counterpoint to their own argument.

3. Description & Analysis (1-2 sentences)
Please choose a descriptive passage used by the author to support their argument. What are they describing? What formal qualities do they take note of (color, gesture, grain, scale, composition, etc.)? What do they discover through their description? How does it contribute to their thesis?

4.Context (3 sentences)
Please outline the context described by the author in your text, taking into account geographic and temporal location, and political, social and economic circumstances. What sources does the author use to detail context? How does the author use this contextual information to support their argument?

5 Conclusions (3-4 sentences)
Based on your identification of the author’s thesis, and your investigation of the tools used to support that thesis (other scholarly sources, description and analysis, contextual information, and any other evidence the author employs), please indicate whether or not you believe that the author has convincingly defended their thesis, and how you reached this conclusion.
