Willing to pay if someone can do this for me and tell me where to make the marks.

Text says:

GOAL: Create a ruler that measures lengths of 1", 2", 3", ..., 12". You are given a 12" ruler without marks or divisions. You are allowed to make four marks that divide it into five segments (these marks must be perpendicular to the ruler length as shown below).

Example: Suppose we have a similar problem, but now an unmarked 6" ruler is used and we have to measure lengths of 1", 2", 3", 4", 5", and 6".

Please help me I will pay and would love this answered sooner than later.

Thanks!

So it is asking to have four marks, and to be able to measure each of the units from 1-12 as a single measurement?

Wasn't that bad.

I clashed the different summation combinations of each numbers 1-12 with the combinations of 5 numbers that add up to 12. (Hence 5 open spaces for measurements).

it turns out that all of the summation factors that were mostly similar were 1, 2, and 3, and all of the numbers can be made from multiples of 3 along with 1 and 2.

Came up with this.

|--1--|----3----|----3----|----3----|---2---|

1
2
3
1+3=4
2+3=5
3+3=6
1+3+3=7
2+3+3=8
3+3+3=9
1+3+3+3=10
2+3+3+3=11
1+3+3+3+2=12
