Say I took too sets of data and used the formula in excel =TTEST(array1,array2,tails,1) and it spit out the number 26%. Now I would assume this is not statistically significant because it doesn't fall below 5% (.05), correct? This means there's about a 25% chance of this happening all by chance and is no way significant for my data as it is way above the 5% limit, right? If that is all true then what are some things that I could do to make it statistically significant (below 5%)?

I guess I'm not the only that hates statistics.

Only way to decrease standard error and thus increase the statistical significance of the data is to obtain more replicates (measure whatever you're measuring more times) assuming you're sticking with the same procedure/materials.
