hi, what force is causing the horizontal force "?????" is it the normal force or the force of gravity?? and when you tilt the picture so that the force: normal is poitning straight up, is it still the same force causing the block to slide horizontally??

and also, both forces have vertical direction, but only one of the forces has a horizontal direction right? (the one that causes the force: ?????)

in simple terms, the "gravity" force for question 1
question 2, when you turn the the problem you don't just turn the picture, you turn everything. so, yes

i'd like to point out that gravity is not a force though, gravity*mass =weight =force

your normal force is a reaction force dependent on the weight
