( x + 6 ) ² = x ² + 12x + 36

( y - 3 ) ² = y ² - 6y + 9

I need to know how to work it

1. You add four to both sides. x^2 + y^2 + 12x - 6y = 4
2. Rewrite it in normal fashion. x^2 + 12x + y^2 - 6y = 4.
The rule for completing the square is to take the value of x and y and divide by (x/2)^2
3. (12/2)^2 = 36. (-6/2)^2 = 9
4. You add the result to both sides. x^2 + 12x + 36 + y^2 - 6y + 9 = 4 + 36 + 9
5. You simplify both the x and y's into squares.
(x+6)^2 + (y-3)^2 = 49.

Radius = 7
Center = (6, -3) or other way around, I forgot.
