Conducted a lab




Basically: as the water:stock ratio increases, the reaction is slower

Need help with this question

What factor affects the rate of reaction? Explain this on a molecular level.
how do i do the bold part?

You are increasing the amount of water and decreasing the amount of reactant in the stock solution. when you decrease the amount of reactant and increase water, you decrease the concentration and decrease the chances of collisions between the reacting particles. the reactants will be hitting the water more often.

for part d, as you increase the temperature while keeping everything else constant, you are increasing the energy of the system. this increases the energy of the individual reactant particles (along with the water) which causes them to collide more often. them colliding more often increases the rate of which collisions between the reacting particles occur.

Ya, I was hesitant on how far they went into activation energy in the course but that is correct.
