Explain how welfare programs and social spending have both helped and harmed people is the question.
I have a lot of ways that its help, but I don't have a lot of ways that it harms people. Besides that makes people dependent on the government, any help?

Yeah, So far what I have is:
Have to pay more taxes
People become dependent on the government
Workers don't want to work if they're on wel fare
Small businesses have to rely on the government more
Welfare programs don't drug test.

also, social programs result in a situation where the poor and the middle/upper class are no longer plainly separated by demographics based on status; people are not concentrated in one location.
this results in homeless people and crime seeping into the suburbs and urban areas.

Drug testing costs considerably more than it saves. Many times more where it has been implemented.

It is actually a bad idea.
