How do I find the derivative Fy ?

yep pretend x is like a constant (i.e. 2) and then just use the quotient rule and take the derivative to get:

-2x^(2)-2yx / (x+y)^4

My solutions used U substitution to find Fy which was why I was confused :rolleyes: .

4/(4+x)^2

u=4+x


4(u^-2)

same thing, honestly the easier way too
