So in my German 101 class we have to research an individual, and one source is required: the Brockhaus Encyclopedia. Our library has 1 copy of this and we're supposed to photocopy the pages belonging to our person and bring it to class. However, I don't know if I'll be able to make it to the library before my next class. I'm looking around online, and I saw somewhere that the Brockhaus Encyclopedia went online with advertisements as funding.

Basically, I need some help navigating the website as I can't understand most of it xD

brockhaus.de - My person is Wernher Von Braun

Or if someone could point me towards a pdf or something?

I appreciate any help!

/e Won't let me link that url for some reason...

you would need to register at least for 'premiumservice' to get anything, at least that is how i read the website
you can register for the 'premiumservice' free of charge but it doesn't tell if there are charges coming afterwards for accessing specific information
and i guess that you'll need a little more than german 101 to navigate through all of that
better rush to the library or ask a friend/co-student to copy those pages for you

note: the search function ("suche") allows you to search for their products not for the context of those

ps: the direct portal to the encyclopedia is http://www.brockhaus-enzyklopaedie.de/

there is an auto-registration ("automatisch anmelden") below entry for user name ("benutzername") and "passwort"
but it seems that they are going to close the online service down next year

Premiumservice will not get you far as it only gives you some extra texts and books online for the ones you've already bought.

Brockhaus Online Encyclopedia seems to be fee-based as you can try to get a test account here:
http://www.brockhaus-wissensservice.com/

There you will have to click on the box displaying "Testen Sie uns."
Yet - that 4 Weeks of free testing is reserved for Schools, Universities, public buildings and so on.

You will have to give detailed data and yet they may take their time for unlocking you as it is forwarded to a general E-Mail inbox.
The encyclopedia brmv mentioned is the portal you will get the login information for and he is right, it is going to be shut down next year.

Also "automatisch anmelden" does not mean auto-registration but auto-login, so it just saves your login data in case you return you will not have to log in again.

For further questions you may PM me.

Copy machines are pretty self explanatory. They usually have a button with a icon next to it that displays 2 sheets of paper, sometimes with a coloured button to indicate coloured buttons. Sometimes you will have to press the scan button and the copy button simultaneously to tell the machine to copy.

Otherwise commonly they have a display with text and then a green button to start copying.

If that does not help you, you should ask an employee at your library. :)

You wana know something interesting? Germany could have easily won the war if they would have given Von Braun more resource's and time on the v2 rocket program...

I also have to pay somehow, but I guess it has a little slot for change or something. I've never used a pay copy machine, I'm sure I'll figure it out though.

dream on, there are plenty other more important reasons germany lost the war
and per the glorification of wernher von braun: yes he was a good engineer/scientist but
the russians took the better ones from peenemuende that is why they were in soace before the americans

I got a reply at 6 am this morning, and was asked if I was a student or an employee at my university. I told her I was a student taking German, and explained, "ich bin neu zu der Sprache"
So let's see if I get access before I leave for the library later xD
