Use the product rule to find the derivative of

f(x)=(x^5+6-2)(x^3-4x)

I got to

(5x^4+6)(x^3-4x)+(x^5+6x-2)(3x^2-4)

and i got stuck. Pls help thx

i assume you mistyped that?

that looks like the answer to me. there's nothing to be stuck on, just circle it. you could alternatively expand it and collect like terms.

sorry f(x)=(x^5+6x-2)(x^3-4x)

f(x)=(x^5+6x-2)(x^3-4x)
derivative is
(5x^4+6)(x^3-4x)+(x^5+6x-2)(3x^2-4)
now just do foil..
(5x^7 - 20x^5 + 6x^3 - 24x) + (3x^7 - 4x^5 + 18x^3 - 24x - 6x^2 + 8)
simplified
8x^7 - 24x^5 + 24x^3 -6x^2 -48x + 8
