3. A hat contains 3 coins - 1 gold, 1 nickel and 1 bronze. You will select coins one at a time with no replacement until you choose the gold coin. The outcome of interest is the sequence of coins that are selected during this process.

What is the appropriate sample space? I have a hard time figuring this out.

S= {nbg, bng, ng, bg, g}

so gnb, gn, gb are not appropriate because g is in the first "coin" ???

You will select coins one at a time with no replacement until you choose the gold coin.

You see, every solution must end with you choosing the gold coin.
