How do you solve if x is an exponent?

Ex: 1400 = 5 x 2^n

i assume 1400 = 5*(2^n)

1400 / 5 = 2^ n
log_2 (1400/5) = n

1400 = 5 x 2^n => 280 = 2^n => n=log2(280) .... ie log2= logarithm to base 2
