okay, so i think you're supposed to change the equation to

(3x) (x^-2 + 2^-2)

and then use the Product Rule, but i'm not sure.

it's not working very well for me.

use the Quotient rule.

(Low-d-hi minus Hi-d-Low)/ Low squared:

[(x^2 + 4)(3) - (3x)(2x)] / (x^2 + 4)^2

(3x^2 + 12 - 6x^2) / (x^2 + 4)^2

i think that's an algebra fail right there.

(x^2+4)^-1 is not the same as (x^-2+2^-2).

otherwise, the product rule works fine.
