So I have to do this poem for MATH....
Anyway, is there any grammar errors or better words to use?

Freedom
My breath withered into the cold air.

In knee deep trouble, I was put on the edge.

I struggled to create a formula in my head to reach the center base,

the thoughts of escape quickly intersected my basic function of logic.

The proof at hand corresponded with the ratio that decides my life.

Death was past the midpoint and living was far from a positive chance.

But with hope in my heart, I stood up horizontally

And set foot towards my almost impossible goal; freedom.

The bolded words are the words that I have to keep in there. ( Math terms )

I see no spelling/grammar errors.

Other terms that could work:
Vector(s)
Mean
Derivative
Tangent
Radical
Rational

Just a question--how does one stand up horizontally? Oh, and the semi-colon is wrong. It ought to be a colon or--better still as this purports to be a poem--a dash.
