Hey so I'm studying for an exam right now and need some help on how to solve these questions

1. Determine the Cartesian equation of the plane that contains the line r = (0,3,4) + s(2,2,1) and the point P(2,1,0).

2. Consider the plane with direction vectors a = (8,-5,4) and b = (1,-3,-2) through point P(3,7,0). Determine if point Q(-10,8,-6) is on the plane.

3. Show that the points A(-1,-2,-3), B(-2,0,1), C(-4,-1,-1) and D(2,0,1) lie in the same plane.

1. Hint: what information do you need to uniquely determine the equation of a plane?

2. Find the equation of the plane. Plug in values.

3. you could find the equation of the plane
or you could calculate the volume of the parallelepiped and if it's 0 they're on the same plane (do you see why?)

usually the latter is the more direct approach...

what have you done so far?
