I was just aving a bit of trouble with the half reaction: Zn(s)/Zn^2+(aq)Cu^2+(aq)/Cu(s)

Is the Cu^2+ the Oxidation agent and the Zn^2+ the Reduction agent? Just confused because they're both positive.

It's written in a different format from the one I use, but, it looks as if one is going from an oxidation number of 0 (no + or - listed) to an oxidation number of +2, and that the other one is going from an oxidation number of +2 to one of 0.

The lower the number the higher the electron count, and since oxidation is when it loses electrons, the one where the number increases is the one undergoing oxidation. That should sort out any confusion.

Alright, I did some more research as well and I understand it now :P

I just needed to make the oxidation half reaction the one lower in the standard electrode potentials. Thank you for the help ^.^
