That's an exerpt from the list:

What I want:

A dropdown menu for "indicators" => I only want to see one indicator at once (and that for all the countries)

Additionally: the same for years => Choose for example 2011, see only one indicator at the same time (there's over 1200) and see that for each country

If you don't understand what I want, please let me know :)

Important: Because I give a donation, post here if u can help me, as it's not fair for those who post here if I answer to PM's as well.=> first to help gets the fg

To explain again what I want on an example:
Country name ... Country Code ... Here I want to choose the indicator and down see for each country the value for 2011 ... Indicator Code[/I]
Afghanistan ... AFG ... country's value for that indicator in 2011 ... blabla
Albania ... ALB ... country's value for that indicator in 2011 ... blabla
Algeria ... DZB ... country's value for that indicator in 2011 ... blabla
...

(for all countries that)

:)

don't post any videos, help me exactly for my list please.if you want the file, its availaible at world bank's site: http://data.worldbank.org/data-catalog/world-development-indicators (WDI excel zip => but its 72mb)

i will answer this in german - think thats easier for him to understand

"Daten" -> "Filtern"

hab ichs jetzt richtig verstanden?

I don't know if you got help yet.

Highlight your entire data (all cells with data you want to include and filter through).
Under the "Insert" (Einfugen) ribbon pick "Table" (calendar looking grid)
This gives you drop-down columns at the top where you can check/uncheck each unique value in the column.
The bottom row of this Table also has a blue *. You can type any new data in this cell and it will extend the table down one cell. This is good if you want something like averages to keep updating as you add more data.

Hope this was what you were looking for.

Highlight the data in a column. Click on the Data tab and then click the Filter button. A little icon should appear on the top cell, click this and a dropdown menu appears, uncheck the things you don't want to see. It will now hide rows that don't contain this value.

The pivot chart function is super useful and will allow to manipulate and visually see dynamic ranges for a vast number of parameters.
Anything more analytical (not just filtered) can be done by adding helper columns to do so.
