How do you think it applies to your life, or just life in general?

I heard that people who get into psychology want to figure out what's wrong with themselves.

And the people who go even further, say to the master or doctorate level, are the most f'd up ones.

Mental Health is a huge issue for society... Psychology helps us understand and treat mental health problems.

It also allows us to better understand the way people think/act etc

For me psych will crossover into my business career (marketing major so its really useful)

I once took Greek mythology as an elective, and I remember there being a couple science students commenting on the class. One of them had mentioned that the class was useless, and it would not benefit him for his future career.

It could say the same thing about just about anything. I am typing this post in the comfort of my chair, but I am not actually touching it. There are repulsion forces between the atoms and molecules that represent my clothing and the material of the chair.

I could babble the same nonsense, too.

There is a lot of information out there, and there are people that know how to unpack that information and turn it into knowledge. There is Greek mythology, and there are people that make an appeal to Greek mythology in the religion vs. 21th century discussion. Just like a physicist might make contributions to human knowledge, but would build on the information available to him/her.

There are some interesting things to be learned in psychology class, and much of it can be relevant to everyday life. You are a political animal, and your wellbeing is dependent on a number of interactions with other people. There are discussions in psychology class that can trouble our easy certainties, and perhaps, change how we approach life and the situations that arise. The things you learn can be empowering, and it just depends on how you use that information.

You could arrive at a destination should you continue an education in psychology. There are people that deal with people on various levels like counselors and psychologists.
