all my fg for a response to thing the response is prettymuch just saying you agree and then talking about an experience

A small group is a group of people comprising of at least two, but no more than 12, that come together for a common purpose. I have attended many meetings and discussions in the small group forum. Some of my experiences include grass roots meetings, small departmental meetings, loan committee meetings, County Health Committee meetings, and Economic Development committee meetings. In each of these settings, the attendees did not exceed 12 individuals. However, with the exception of small departmental meetings, the committee meetings I attended could not commence unless there was a quorum present for the purpose of passing any motions brought to the table.
The different types of leadership styles in small groups are an implied leader, an emergent leader, and a designated leader. I have personally experienced each type of leadership styles. During departmental meetings, the Director of the department served as an implied leader, generally because she was the Director and was responsible for informing staff members of policy and/or procedural changes. At loan committee, the County Health Committee, and Economic Development meetings, there was an elected chairperson (designated leader) who served as leader during these gatherings. My experience with an emergent leader includes the grass root meetings I attended. These meetings were intended for the purpose of discussing various issues that were occurring within the department that the employees felt needed changing or improving. Management was not typically involved during grass roots meetings to allow for an open discussion among subordinate staff without feeling intimidated or apprehensive to discuss their concerns. However, there was always an employee (emergent leader) who “took the reins”, so to speak, to keep the meeting on track and promote order for effective discussion purposes.
