that would mean 9.99... = 9.999... as ive sed forever before
i beg to differ if you think they are the same.
Dude .. honestly you do NOT know what you are talking about.
To push my point even further, 10x=9.999... ---> 10x= 9+ .999... is true.. and since we said x=.999... we can substitute them in.
These decimals places go on for INFINITE places, that means there is NO finite number. So when you multiply by 10 the translation is NOT 10x=9.99..., its' 10x=9.999..., or 10x=9.999999999... for all i care. The ... is just to express that it goes on infinitely
and to bypass your dumb ass take the other proof i put down proving a geometric series..
take the series .9+.09+.009 + ...
That's .9 being the first term with a common geometric ratio of 1/10
So that's (9/10)(1/10)=9/100=.09 being the next term, etc
Therefore, when you use the formula A1/(1-r), WHICH IS THE SUM OF ANY INFINITE SERIES, you get (9/10)/(1-1/10)= (9/10)/(9/10)=1
You sir, are retarded.
Dont question me I'm an engineer with a far higher GPA than you.
