You lie. Your Mathematic skills are shithouse let me say that right now.

Try 0.999999999 on your computer calculator and times that number by 2 and see what you get. It is bad enough at work last week I had some old guy who couldn't round the 3 to the 5 and he gave me the 10 instead of the 15 and he had a huge cry about not getting $2, instead he got $1.95.

I'm guessing you are that same old guy I served. You stink at Maths!

ur wrong, first off .999999... doesnt equal 1 and it x2 doesnt equal 2...

You just said .999999... times 2 will = 1.88888....

Try it on your calculator and tell me what you get.

.999... * 2 =
.9*2 + .09*2 + .009*2 + ... = 2
Proof: again by use of geometric series. a/(1-r) = 1.8/(1-.1) = 2.

math isn't always intuitive

Then you'd agree with me that 0.999999999999... times by 2 does NOT equal 1.88888888888888888....

No...
0.999... X 2 = 1.999... 8 but anything after an infinite amount of a number never occurs therefore 1.999... 8 = 1.999... = 2
so 0.999... X 2 = 2

I can do logical maths. I am probably the best mathematician, philosopher and chess player on jsp. So sit down, kid.

A risky claim...

My mind tells me that .99999.. and 1 are differents numbers but my logical sense tells me that .999999... = 1

.999999999... x 2 for example. You have to place that 8 somewhere, it exist you can't say that there isn't a 8 after the .99999999..x2 multiplication. It can't be placed but it's still here.
