Try 0.999999999 on your computer calculator and times that number by 2 and see what you get. It is bad enough at work last week I had some old guy who couldn't round the 3 to the 5 and he gave me the 10 instead of the 15 and he had a huge cry about not getting $2, instead he got $1.95.

.999999999... x 2 for example. You have to place that 8 somewhere, it exist you can't say that there isn't a 8 after the .99999999..x2  multiplication. It can't be placed but it's still here.
