Hello jsp, I need answers to these questions in $$ amounts very simple questions from a homework assignment from my ENV 101 class. Thanks in advance :wub:

1. How much would you be willing to pay in a monthly tax for waste clean up in the ocean over the next 10 years in order to protect the wildlife in the sea?
around 1 percent of how much i make every month, which currently would be $70 a month

2. How much would you be willing to pay in a monthly tax in order to protect endangered species around the world over the next 5 years?
Depending on how. I would not contribute if it was zoo style since i dont believe in zoos. If it was geneitic or sanctuary, probably also 1 percent of my salary per month, or currently 70

3. How much would you be willing to pay in a monthly tax over the next 20 years for forest clean up and recovery?
I would not pay for clean up, or recovery, since I do not believe the US (where I live) has a significant forestry problem, and I sure heck dont trust other countries with my tax dollars for recovery. If I had to, I would pitch in $5 a month

4. How much would you be willing to pay in a monthly tax to have water transported into Lake mead over the next 30 years to replenish the lake and prevent it from drying up?
$0, Transporting water is pointless. fighting natural water cycles and human water overusage with water tranporting makes 0 sense

5. How much would you be willing to pay in a monthly tax in order to convert all of the U.S to solar energy over the next 50 years to cut down air pollution by the burning of coal?
$0, solar energy is still too inefficient. would rather go to nuclear

I'd have to go with 1-2% which now as im studying would be 10-20$ a month

We're all paying a lot more than what ever the amount we could put on that.
All these subjects needs a fast/huge change.
All of these, in some ways, are directly linked to human's survival.

My answer is what ever it takes.

If you really need numbers to build a chart or what ever, here it is;

In the ocean lives a lot of animals that are a must to human race, 10$/month.

Many of these animals are endangered because we really need them and keep killing them for our needs, 5$/month.

This is the lung of the planet... wake up people!!! 20$/month.

The human can go 7 days or so without eating but only 3 days without drinking and we're living on borrowed water for a really long time now! 50$/month.

Fuel is, in my opinion, what kills the planet the fastest... Electric cars will really help with that but for the rest... well. 10$/month.

If I make 1,000,000 a month :

1- up to 100,000$
2- up to 100,000$
3- up to 100,000$
4- up to 100,000$
5- up to 100,000$

leaving me 500,000$ a month to live comfortably.

If I make 1,000$ a month :

1- 0$
2- 0$
3- 0$
4- 0$
5- 0$

because I need every cent to buy food for myself and my children.

What is it supposed to prove ??
