Whatever you do, make sure to network with people within that first year. Freshman year is where you form your long time buddies. After that, people tend to stick together with whom they met freshman year. No matter what major you are, unless you are a genius, you need friends. Help each other when you are down (at some point in college, that one class, exam, professor or project is gonna kick your ass).
I graduated EE last year.
Weed out classes in the beginning made like 1/3 -1/2 of the people I saw change majors.
