Well im speaking in a more overall sense I guess you could say. if there's about a 50/50 chance or even 48/52 chance for example: flip a quarter 10 times, what are the odds of you getting at least ONE heads in those 10 flips....(yes I know its not totally 50/50 on the roulette wheel)

lets calculate it 50/50 chance so the math will be easier, can anyone work this equation (im not that smart lolz) 10 flips of a quarter, what r the odds you get at least one heads of those 10 flips, gotta be in the high 90's I would think...

if your odds of wining are 98+% (then that's pretty dam good) whatever your initial bet was would be won back x 2.

bid 50$ -- say u win--- you win 100$ 50$ u bet +50the win. bid 50$ say u loose, next time bid 100$, win-- you get 200$ 150$ back of the bets u lost+ 50$ gain.

also you wouldn't need a unlimited amount of money because after so many rolls on the wheel you would be bound to win sometime.... I would think after at least 20 times your chance to win at least one time would be so high it wouldn't matter right?

you start with $1000 in your pocket

lets say you bet $50 on heads, and if you lose you double your bet....

Chance of loosing 4 times in a row = 6.25%

first bet = $50 --> total loses = $50
second bet = $100 --> total loses = $150
third bet = $200 --> total loses = $350
fourth bet = $400 --> total loses = $750

fifth bet = $800 YOU CAN NOT MAKE THIS BET, YOU ONLY HAVE $250 DOLLARS LEFT, GAME OVER

That is why you need an infinite bank roll. The only way you can be mathematically sure to make money in this situation is if you already have an infinite amount of money (making it kind of pointless).

how often will you be able to double your bet?
in case you haven't been to a casino: there are minimum and maximum bets on each table
the differential between minimum and maximum determines how many times you can double your bet without forfeiting your 'run of bets'

you winning from each run would be the minimum bet value
but the losses of a run with hits the ceiling would be (2^n-1)*minimum bet
now work out your chance that you can get rich quick

If you want to have some fun, give this a try:
http://www.bettingsimulation.com/

bankroll = $1000
initial bet = $50
game = amerian roulette
table limit = $2000
number of runs = 1000
target profit= 0
always bet on black
system = martingale

number of spins to bankruptcy when I tried it:
7
67
711

using $50 as min and $1,600 as max and $2,000,000 bankroll, after 10,000 runs:

lost $57,950
lost $94,750
lost $132,100
lost $175,500
lost $41,100

and the boundary conditions of the simulator are more favourable than true martingale

You always lose in the long run, does it really matter how quickly it happens?

Only two of those runs were very long, and one of them was about 5 minutes at the casino, 7 rolls is not very many. Even 60 rolls is probably around an hour.
