Let x=0.9999...

then 10x=9.999999....

10x-x=9.99999... -0.9999999
9x=9
x=1

And no, it's not the first time I've seen that.

If you say 10x=.9999
Look at it this way

x=.99999/10 -> Does not equal one. It's common sense. .9999999 does NOT equal 1. That's like in the Fairly Oddparents where they have that genius guy prove that 1 = 2. It's a joke. .99999 and 1 are 2 completely different numbers, however close they are
