You don't divide by 78.5 here, if you do then you also have to dive that 36.1 by 78.5 as well. Combine the two B terms by adding them, and then divide.

1.423 = .89 + 78.5B + 36.1B
0.533 = 78.5B + 36.1B
0.533 = 114.6B
B = 0.533/114.6 = .00465

Not sure how, everything you wrote was correct up until the part I bolded.

-78.5B - 36.1B = -114.6B

-114.6B = -.533
B = -.533/-114.6 = .00465
