Oh I see what the problem is. Your teacher didn't say the key should be repeated. If you repeat the key you get

Code
0000 1010 0001 0100 0001 1000 0000 1011
0101 1001 0101 1001 0101 1001 0101 1001
_______________________________________
0101 0011 0100 1101 0100 0001 0101 0010

Rotate 8 left
0101 0010 0101 0011 0100 1101 0100 0001

Convert to hex:
52 53 4D 41

Look up ASCII table and you get
M A R S

Hero!

If i win some of my basebal bets ill be sure to send you a bron8!

Well I have another assignment
the second question is asking about Trace route

Using: www.motitis.com/traceroute

a. [8 marks] Name the cities shown on the trace map for Europe and do the same for the Asian trace.
I've done this Question

b. [3 marks] Why does the information follow these routes? What implications do the routes shown have with respect to privacy issues?

c. [2 marks] On the same site we can see how a Ping works. How could the bad guys use this information?

d. [2 marks] Then click on the Website Check tab. How could the bad guys use this information?

Im not giving the site in question as it would identify where i go to school :P but the principle is the same regardless of site.

My main questions are, why is a domestically hosted site routing through the US, China and the UK, being that i have a domestic site, and isp.

Generally speaking, the shortest path wins. That path of travel might have been shorter than any other path to get there from where you are.
