I don't think you understand the geometry of the set up if you have any questions on that.
It's literally like a wooden beam with 2 flat supports on both ends.

If you say those are 2 different types of loads then ok
that makes sense, since the deflection formula given to you is for distributed load


what does the area of bearing information do? how is it gonna be part of the problem?

It is a force per area.
(force per area)*(area)

You need to be careful about using 16 ft.
16 ft from center of bearing to center of bearing.
You have been given bearing dimensions.

so your saying the distributed load is in the direction of "in the screen" according to the picture u posted? OR is the distributed load in the horizontal direction (left and right)?

I don't understand how you'd think it's horizontal, into the screen.
The center of bearing to center fo bearing is 16 ft; the length of the beam is longer than 16ft..

what? it says the span length is 16ft
