Google scholar often produces mediocre results, because most of the items found are one websites that require membership and payment for articles and online books. Furthermore, it is a poor idea to cite information from a source you only have partial access to.
The best place to look is through a college/university database where articles and books are already owned, and are made available to students for free. It is the best resource available, and there should be scholarly. My university database flags articles have been peer-reviewed (pretty much all of them, and should be the case with yours), and this is what is significant.
This means that the paper/article/book has been through the academic arena, and has been harshly criticized by other experts – which is handed to people randomly – to look over and approve.
The way to get round for paying for google articles is if you search using a university computer. Generally speaking they have access to other journals and a lot of journals base access on IP. If you combine a university computer and google scholar you actually have a pretty good pool of research to choose from. Another good place to search (although I'm not sure about nutrition) is the Sagepub database of journals, the ERIC database, and JSTOR. If your university gives you access these are extremely helpful.
I have access so if you need me to search for something in my university database let me know
