signed up for these 3 classes for the summer. i graduate this term w/ AA (with honors baby!) and start university in the fall.. but im trying to finish the rest of my lower division requirements for the bachelor program so i can start as a junior in the fall. unfortunately these are all that is left that i can take at the college i am at right now. basically, am i masochist, or is this totally doable workload wise? the physics class is withOUT calculus but also has a lab, as does the accounting class. i am debating dropping the physics class and just taking it at university, but it would be nice to knock out one more class if i can. im taking and passing trig right now, which will be helpful going into physics since the material is so fresh in my mind, particularly with the use of vectors.

any advice from those that have taken these courses? by the way its a first 6 weeks accounting/lab, second 6 weeks business cal, and full 12 weeks physics w/o cal/lab. so basically ill only be taking two classes at any one time, however 6 week accounting and 6 week business cal... lol

what about calculus for calculus business

only prerequisite for business calculus is trig and it's as high as i need to go with math, though a few of my upper division classes will require business calculus as a prerequisite. I have been told by someone who took it that it is easier than regular calculus (they've also taken regular calculus)


edit: actually im lying business calculus prerequisite is only college algebra (got an A)

From my experience tutoring in Uni, Business Calc moves through the content much faster than Calc 1, but that shouldn't matter in a 6-week summer course. Just make sure you ask questions if there's something you don't understand, as everything builds off of previous chapters in that class.

thanks man, but im really wanting to know if taking these 3 classes together is suicide.. it's a load, 11 credits for 12 weeks. i normally take 14 credits but thats in a 16 week span, and theyre not all heavy classes. my gpa matters, I want to keep it high.. so I'm just wondering if maybe it's too much?

If you're worried about it, you should only take 2 of the 3 (unless you're in a hurry to finish your schooling). Unless Accounting is your major, I recommend getting that one out of the way in a shortened summer class. As for the other 2, its a toss up.

Passed final exam with a 10% higher score than avg, thanks to a good buzz. Its proven that having a little buzz actually boosts ones prob solvin ability

lol well this is a 3 and a half hour lecture twice a week cause it's only 6 weeks :(:(

imo i'd try to keep your average daily workload around 8 hours a day before hw on weekdays. that lecture is 1.4h/day average. so if you already work 8h/day 5 days a week, i'd prolly reconsider. on the other hand, if you only work <= 6h/day, then i'd go for it.

i work much less, just about 20 hours a week. yeah im gonna go ahead and do it, i just swapped out the accounting class for an online accounting class. should allow me some more flexability
