when i isolate the 5Aamp current source im having difficulty figuring Vo.

6||3 = 2ohms
4||12 = 3 ohms

then wat?>

i have a circuit midterm on tuesday. hmm does anyone know when u should use superposition theorem or source transformation? or can i just use nodal analysis and mesh analysis and totally ignore those methods

and is there any tips in coverting circuits that have" diagonal wires that goes over other wires " into a plain circuit with no overlaps or diagonals?

sounds like a topology question, but I think the general answer would be no, for any reasonable complex circuit.

If you can provide an example, I can give you tips, but I'd always try to rewrite it with only horizontal and vertical lines. And as for superposition, I'm pretty sure I always used mesh/nodal analysis (and still do) after we learned those methods.

If the question on your midterm doesnt specify what method, you usually go with the one you're most comfortable with. I like the mesh analysis because all you need to do is transform some currents source into voltage sources and vice versa / combine resistances until you only have 2 meshes.

Basically, if not mentioned :

1- If you can do some transformations in order to only have 2 meshes, then use the mesh analysis (you still have to find 2 node equations, in most cases) OR node analysis , whichever u prefer
2 - If you can't simplify it to two meshes, use the superposition theorem, since for each source a lot of stuff can be simplified down to a single mesh

In most times you still have to go through source transformations, it always makes your circuit easier to analyse

yea of course i prefer it to write it with only horizontal and vertical lines, but what r some tips for converting into that. so do u still use superposition where u isolate each independent source? cuz i would hate doin taht if there was like 3 or more sources.. and source transformation, can I not use it and still do the mesh/nodal anaylsis cuz i dont want to transform incorrectly

im fine with having 3 or 4 meshes... ill just use cramer's rule for the 3x3 matrix and use echelon reduciton for 4x4 until i get the inverse and mutiply by it the answer column




im confused wit using the voltage divison and current vision.. i know that the numerator is the current/voltage ur lookin for and the denomination is the equvial but whiich equvialent? llike how far should i simplify it to get the equvialent. and then u just mutple it by the source.

i think i see wat ur saying, so i dont have to use soruce transmation until i get 1 resistor with 1 source? just use it until u get 2 mesh and use the mesh analysis... 2 eqautiosn 2 unknoiwn
