On Taxable Income ... The Tax Rate is ...
Up to $8,375 10%
From $8,375 to $34,000 15
From $34,000 to $82,400 25
From $82,400 to $171,850 28
From $171,850 to $373,650 33
Over $373,650 35

34. Refer to Table 12-1. If Damian has $33,000 in taxable income, his marginal tax rate is
a. 10%.
b. 15%.
c. 25%.
d. 28%.

is it 15% because its between 8,375 and 34,000?

The income tax requires that taxpayers pay 10% on the first $40,000 of income and 20 percent on all income over $40,000. Karen paid $6,000 in taxes. What were her marginal and average tax rates?
a. 20 percent and 12 percent, respectively
b. 20 percent and 15 percent, respectively
c. 10 percent and 12 percent respectively
d. 10 percent and 15 percent respectively

Anot sure if its A or not. but the total income is 50,000

so.. .10*40,000 + .12*10,000?

I believe so, marginal tax rate= tax liability/ taxable income.

so (.15*33000)/(33000) is .15 or 15%

10*40000 + .2*10000 to get $6,0000 in taxes

6,000/50,000= 12% for average

2,000/10,000= 20% for marginal

So yes, A
