Magma's pretty easy and YES it can be safe transferred. I can color one pet per week and up to 2 per month (what with only being able to do 2 transfers)
NPS = 1:5000 ratio or better.

edit/ as far as magma goes just offer me some reasonable amount of FG as I did take the time to discover my very small time window to dip neopets in the magma.
