It doesn't mean that much.

Retired means you can't buy it from a NPC or get it from a random event.

R90-99's can be worth a bit more.

Special mean that you got it from a game or event. They can't be bought in a NPC shop.

As far as any others go feel free to look them up. Jellyneo might have some useful info.
