Tl;dr don’t bother pvp is really bad now, only buy a char if you want to chase nostalgia
There’s usually 1-2 games up all the time, with 4-5 around “peak” times.
Here’s what you’ll typically see:
1-2 Town Bear Druids
Team of 2+ ppl with usually a bo barb or partied with one of the town bear druids for its buffs
1-3 people trying to gm duel
1-3 ppl afk
1 person shit talking in town but not actually doing anything
The quality of duels/actual fun you’ll have is very limited.
People still refer to non-passworded games as “pub” games, but that is really all that is left. None of the well-known passworded games still exist and the only real passworded games you’ll encounter are the occasional 1v1 or team duel game posted in the legit dueling sub. That sub is 95% spam, but occasionally someone actually uses it for its intended purpose.
There are scarce dueling “ladders” with participation so lackluster it makes them pretty pointless, other than a way to get the occasional gm duel.
Occasionally there are tournaments hosted in legit dueling as well.
The legit dueling ppl seem to prefer ladder, which I guess is either because they like building characters and trading as much as dueling, or because they like gear advantage and want to pay to get the edge over each other.
There is also a private realm that is used frequently that is referred to based on server location of the game (if you see someone talking about new york or london they mean that private realm).
You were afk in town last night xd
