casually chatting or were you spamming quickly?? I don't play much so I haven't seen the chat system yet but I know they are doing it to prevent the spam bots and it will also be used to target the players spamming with 3rd party programs.

Do you? are you privy to information everyone else isn't? This is like when everyone thought the login loop bug was a method of preventing bots, there's no way to 'know'. They already added a method to prevent spam in 1.13d, read patch.txt in your d2 folder.

All spam bots would have to do is add a delay to the 'say' command in the script, that's hardly a difficult workaround so it's unlikely that's a way of them preventing spam bots (which Blizzard are stupid enough not to think of), you already have ignore persist for that though. There's no real way to prevent it other than running some detection program to prevent loaders, even then that's pretty hard to do, but version hack could be prevented if they really wanted to

It could be an error from all the work they have been doing with channels and accounts, no one knows, but there's a large chance it's just yet another unintended code error from something else they were working on, this is Blizzard after all

But who the hell doesn't know how to copy/paste the pastebin for the ignorelist file? who even sees spam bot messages anymore? The issue with spam bots is full bug which has nothing to do with chat messages.

It's quite obvious they are in the process of trying to fix spam bots and botting, which is what they promised to do at the beginning of patch 1.14.
I would be very shocked if version hack isn't fixed on reset day. But that isn't what this topic is about. Everybody knows how to add ignorelist so why bother posting about it, oh I know, you always post essays about garbage nobody cares to read.

If more than one 'line' of text is sent in a single packet, or multiple chat packets within a threshold, it will 'mute' you.

It is possible that they copypasted the bncs floodprotection, and realm blocks 15's instead of closing connection, but don't quote me on that as its entirely speculation.

/e: far be it from blizz to recycle code and whatnot...
