I wouldn't say blow, dins with MB and decent DR can just stomp you, or mages/vanquishers just play around with you.

a good hdin > good barb most of the time

I kill more hdins than I lose to

but a max block max dr hdin can tank a lot more whirls than I can hammers...and it's easy for them to randomly spam hammers and land a couple here and there

Yeah, generally in that situation it's slightly luck based.
