I just recently found out that my Arcanine won't be able to learn moves.
I evolved Growlithe at level 25 and apparently I should have waited until 45.

I never knew about this

What other Pokemon won't learn moves after evolution?

Wrong.

Pokemon that evolve through stones that lose out on moves can't learn those moves with Heart Scales.

What's infuriating, is that this is inconsistent between Pokemon that evolve through stones. Some learn moves fine and others don't.

Try having Arcanine hold an everstone and give him 10 Rare candies + Full happiness. This should take away the effects of the fire stone.

Joking aside, Serebii is a good website to find out what certain pokemon can learn

Pokemon: Arcanine
http://www.serebii.net/pokedex-sm/059.shtml

Picture
Abilities
Level up moves
TM Moves
Egg moves
Zmoves
Pre evolution moves
Transfer only moves
Base stats

to find out more about a pokemon, go to the top of the website, click S&M Pokedex, Click Type, and search for pokemon

thanks
but that is a bit annoying
most of my playing is done when I dont have internet and I never know what pokemon I am going to find, evolve, or decide to play with :(
I can't believe my arcanine is wastedddddddddddd

on the bright side someone traded me politoad for poliwhirl

if you are just using arcanine as a playthrough, then dont worry about it, you want to have arcanine with close combat (close combat) and good IVs
