So day 3-4 of playing.

Love the game. The nostalgia is awesome. It is more battle like then the original games to me but i love how similiar it is. Wasnt expecting that.

So right now my best deck is a raichu deck with sky stadium so have a lot of damage through circle circuit with basic pokemon on bench (bouffulant, kengas) It wins quite a lot of games. Tons of trainer cards and rescue scarf, super rod, max revive, level ball to get my only 2 raichus quickly and recycle them.

I want to know how mega evolutions work. Like what is the benefit? Losing 2 prize cards sucks so is it worth it? What is the philosophy there?

Also i opened a sideways gold talonflame that said break something on it.

What is the deal with that? Are those cards godly?

Coming from relatively simple minded hearthstone there is a lot of different mechanics im not familiar with.

When are the meta decks like? Should i just experiment what kinda decks are good?

I have beat a double mewtwo and tons of ex deck and it felt great but losing a lot to them sucks. Should i even try and get those cards?

I dont think i want to invest in theme decks, (i have 3 already). Because they give pretty meh cards it seems.

What packs should i be buying in your opinion.

Also if anyone has in game tips, advice or spare cards that would be appreciated. Thanks for the info. Loving the game as of now.

Just to summarize my thoughts.

Fire cards:discard energy and cycle quickly.

Water: deal dmg to self and heal for extra dmg with like heal scarf?

Lightning: ? Have a lot of benched pokemon?

Psychic: accumulate a lot of energy and do big attacks?

Tl,dr. Just trying to get the big picture grasp of this game.

Any input appreciated. Thanks!

So there's EX and M(mega) EX, which if any of these die your opponent draws 2 prize card. A mega is the evolution of the same name EX card, are they worth it even if double payout by opponent, certainly depending on your deck they can wasily be 3-4x stronger then a normal card.

Break cards still pretty new to them myself but ultimately they are a evolution put sideways on the card and give extra attacks to the pokemon (might also add HP).

Meta decks... you can look online for tournament winners but ultimately cycle to get combo of cards ASAP.

Keep playing and if you can grind versus to get a bunch of points and extra packs/coins.

What to use coins on, depends what cards your looking to get really depending on needs certain packs are better then others.

If there's anything else you can add me in game or PM me will do my best to help out fellow players :)
