Played poke go for awhile I'm at 23 and I kinda just lost interest. I have to drive an hour to catch the high tier dratinis and I just don't find that to be worth my time. Additionally the battle system just made me nostalgic for the old shit. Found out about Pokemon showdown where it's literally just online battles with a ranking system. Anyone here play? I'm not sure how active it is but it's pretty fun, passed an hour of time yesterday with it lol

yea showdown is pretty fun. there is usually 10k+ people on ~2k active battles

sometimes i'll build a team but its pretty easy to just click random battle and get straight into it.


just know that if you build a team try to include hazard control (defog/rapid spin) and try to include a pokemon with at least stealth rocks for hazards. they are pretty broken, spikes are decent too.

other extremely strong moves to try to include are knockoff -removes their item. scald -decent power, 30% chance to burn, wears down counters if you burn. thunder wave - cuts speed by to 1/4th and 25% of not being able to move. willo-wisp - cuts enemies physical attack by 50% and does 12% a turn

not sure how experienced you are but i can give you more tips if you want.
