Im really in doubt, im having a really hard time finding a high IV one, same with my bulbasaur.

Max i can find atm seems to be around 80IV lol..

what to do?

Do you plan on playing long term? If so go ahead and get that temp charizard. If not then it won't really matter anyways.

I just upgraded it twice to check the IV. was around 40-93, but got cut down to 40-73 now.. I guess this is the right way to do it before evolving, or?

It works but there are systems that can log into your account and get the IV's directly without having to touch your candies or dust.

I've had a helluva time finding charmanders-charizards with good ivs and I am not playing by the rules. I've caught literally somewhere around 900 of them combined and only had 2 above 90% ivs

I think 73% is solid and worse case scenario you find a better one later and just have to feed it some more low iv charmanders

That being said unless you're planning on battling with it soon I'd hold out

If it's saying 40-70% then it may be 40%. That's a pretty big difference. If you decide you want to roll with it then power it up and check ivs again before you do it or use that 3rd party

I don't have exact numbers on it, but it seems like IV's don't play *too* much of a role in the game. If you find a perfect moveset on a Pokemon with 50% IV's, it may very well be worth maxing out.

Right now I'm playing by the rule that 70% IV and perfect moveset is my minimum... but for example, I have a Snorlax at 55% IV's and perfect moveset, and a Dragonite at 55% IV and perfect moveset, and I'm not sure whether to upgrade them either.

Need more concrete information on defense, stamina, attack, CP, all that.

It is not worth upgrading anything with low CP right now, although it's worth keeping high IV Pokemon in case. They have just balanced moves, and it'll happen again most likely.

Im running really low on stardust cause i've shoving it all into my dragonite which is currently 2525 cp (93IV) with dragon breath and hyper beam, hopefully its worth it..

Guess its ok evolving my charmander now then, and eventually my bulbasaur ^^

IVs make up to a 17.5% difference, which is a great amount in this game.

so i upgraded my charmander and got a 1496 charizard with wing attack and dragon claw.. not the best i guess? ..
