I blew through 15 ultra balls and 10 great balls on a 1619 CP dragonite because the circle hitbox is on its face rather than on its whole body. It seems like the curve ball doesn't hit flying pokemon anymore, since its too far back.

I've noticed 3rd evolutions especially flying types are farther back, also the higher cp the Pokemon generally more balls it takes

Ive been having a harder time catching pokemon too. Shit a 13cp escaped from 5 greatballs earier. I was like wtf? And yeah flying shit ive been struggling to hit too. Seems like if i dont hit in a certain spot it just phases right through them

they probably made them more agressive...

Had eevee's growling at me after I throw the ball. Higher lvl means higher catch rate I guess

went through about 40 great balls and 40 berries to catch a 1740 dragonite, was surprised it didnt run away

They changed some of the mechanics, throwing the ball, the rattle of the ball after you nail a pokemon with it.
It is a little harder but that could just be because its different then before.

Here's the awesome part: There's attack movesets, and defense movesets. You don't want to put a powered up attack Pokemon in a gym to defend.

Best defense movesets (currently) for Dragonite are completely different from the best attack movesets. This means you're best off with at least 2 Dragonites. Then comes IV's.

But it all really doesn't matter as things stand. Updates will change what works and what doesn't. Plus, currently, you can't really hold down a gym anyways unless if you camp it out.
