so i caught a pokemon when it jumped mid air and it was a "great" throw. i thought i had gotten extra exp for catching it mid air but it turns out it was just extra points for the 100th type. that would have been neat to have a mid air catch bonus in this game ;p

The "great" is for getting it into the circle that shows the catch radius. It can be "nice" "great" or "excellent" with increasing bonuses for each. The smaller the circle -> bigger the bonus. You don't get any points/rewards for catching any certain amount of pokemon (the medals are useless for now).
