I have a samsung galaxy s6 all the time getting a gps error and cant even get to loading screen


things I tried

force close the app and reopen

airplane mode on and off

restarting phone
Wi-Fi on/off

also updated all apps on my phone

There's a toggle in the settings bar for location services (looks like a circle with a point at the bottom- almost like a pin on google maps or a guitar pick).

I know it sounds really dumb but check to make sure that's on.

I see its icon for the gps to be on and off I tried turning it on and off a few times to see if I could reset it

Turn it on, leave it on, and use google maps to see if it centers on you correctly. Depending on your version there should be a little crosshair icon in gmaps.

EDIT: Alternatively- do you happen to live in a mountain range, are surrounded by large trees, or have metal siding on your house?
