Somebody that is in my team has control of the gym and I was wondering what happens if I give them one of my Pokemon to help pull down the gym do I lose that Pokemon or what? I can't get a straight answer also is there a way to play with people that aren't in your direct area takeover gems with them please let me know also are there any good guys out yet

you have to go back to the gym to get the pokemon back I believe. And while your pokemon is there, you collect the poke coins that you can buy different things like pokeballs and shit every 24 hours as long as your pokemon isn't dethrowned.

If the gym is your teams colour you have to battle them, if you win it will increase the gyms prestige and when it gets high enough it will unlock another slot for a pokemon. My local one is level 4 I'm going out at lunch to try and make it 5

Are there any other ways to get stardust other then the 100 from catching pokemon im almost out of pokeballs

You get 500 per gym you're in when you claim the rewards. Only other way I know.
